The driving force behind New Zealands motoracing elite

In 2017 Yuasa Batteries will continue to provide a performance boost to New Zealand’s motor racing elite with an extensive sponsorship program.

For the 2016/2017 season Yuasa’s has been fortunate to continue its partnership with some of the leading motorsport entities in New Zealand including the following Yuasa sponsorship ambassadors.

Greg Pickerill

A leading Sprint Car racer, former champion and well known identity on the speedway circuit. Greg races in the Yuasa Sprint car and will feature at 16 events around the North Island.

Rod Harvey

A leading name in Drag racing Rod currently races in the Yuasa Toyota Celica and is one of the world's fastest racers in a6 cylinder Sport Compact vehicle with a time of 6.35 seconds, reaching speeds of 229 Mph.

Toyota Racing Team (TRT)

As part of Yuasa’s continued relationship with Toyota, Yuasa will again be a key partner of the Toyota Racing Series with cover across more than 100 countries. In 2017 the TRT will complete over 5 rounds across NZ with TV coverage on TV3 CRC Motorsport and Sky TV.

Shavaun Harvey

Shavaun Harvey is the daughter of Rod Harvey and currently the 2015/2016 Junior Dragster Beginner Champion.

Dan Corrin

Dan Corrin is the New Zealand North Island Grand Prix Champion and Super Saloon driver. As part of this initiative the Yuasa logo will feature on the front of the race car and trailer. Dan and the team will be traveling the length of the Country from Auckland to Invercargill, competing at various Race tracks along the way.

Justin Ashwell

Justin is currently the New Zealand NZSIX Saloon Trophy Class Champion and now progressing to the NZV8 TL Class in the NZ Touring car V8 Supercar. Justin will be taking part in the South Island V8 Super events, taking place January 2017.

Phil Nunn

Phil Nunn competes in Drag Bike Racer in a Zero Gravity Pro Extreme Motorcycle. Phil is the New Zealand Drag Bike Record Holder of two classes in 1990, 1991 and 2010.

Phil is first the motorcycle drag bike to break into the 7 second barrier in Christchurch, and has since achieved faster results. Phil’s next goal is to be the fastest on two wheels down a ¼ mile with a Billet 1655cc GSX Suzuki 4v, 450 horsepower Nitrous Oxide powered drag bike.

Phil will feature at five events throughout NZ in early 2017.
